Expert RAApplications for the 8th Contest of Russian Innovations WelcomeSeptember 24, 2008 The EXPERT Innovational office informs about the start of yet another, 8th Contest of Russian Innovations. The Annual Contest of Russian innovations has been organized and conducted by Expert Mediaholding since 2001. Project examination and assessment is carried out by the Contest’s panel of experts which includes, among others, Fursenko A.A., Minister for Science and Education, Milovantsev D.A., deputy Minister of Information Technologies and Communications, Bortnik I.M., adviser to the science and education Minister, Vyshegorodtsev M.M., minister for the Moscow Government, head of the Department for the support and development of small enterprises in Moscow, Kovalchuk M.V., a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), academic secretary of the Presidential Council for science and high technologies, Nakoryakov V.E., RAS academician, director of the Institute of perspective research (Novosibirsk), Zhuravlev Yu.I., RAS academician. Beginning from 2005 a students’ contest for the Best Business Plan of Innovational Project has been held within the framework of the Russian Innovations contest. Its participants, who are student teams from best Russian colleges and universities, prepare and defend business plans for innovational projects, which are admitted to the present contest after they have passed the 2nd round. In 2007-2008, the contest was conducted for the seventh time. A record high of 569 innovational projects in the whole period of its existence was submitted to the panel’s consideration by 61 teams from 30 Russian colleges and universities. The success of the contest can be seen in the growing number of applications with every year, and the support it receives from the state and scientific elite. During the seven years of its existence, the Contest has attracted over 3,000 projects, dozens of which have become winners and been funded by various sources. “One can say with great confidence that the Contest of Russian innovations has become a major event both in the Russian and foreign scientific and business communities. It is important that this project should continue to hold the same stature and note, as it does today, by keeping its unique position as Russia’s centre for innovational policy improvement” Andrei Fursenko, Minister of Education and Science said in his speech. The Partners of the 8th Contest of Russian Innovations companies are Autodesk (general partner), Uralkhim, St.-Petersburg electrotechnical company. Entry applications for the Contest are to be submitted before December 25, 2008. |
