Expert RA has affirmed the A credibility rating level to Moskva insurance company

Expert RA has affirmed the A credibility rating (high credibility) to Moskva insurance company.

Reinsurance protection high quality and efficiency are key factors in assessing insurer’s credibility. Moskva insurance company’s specialty lies in dealing with large risks – hence vast experience of settling big losses. The company financial status is the one of high sufficiency of own funds and liquidity of assets. Combined unprofitability ratio is low and contributed to the rating level.

The insurer’s credibility is a bit limited by relatively low volume of activity and dependence on the largest client – the company’s owner - and one branch of economy.

Moskva plans to develop retail insurance, particularly, OSAGO, and cooperate with Mortgage House Crediting Agency.

Moskva insurance company ranks highly at the aviation risks’ insurance market. “The insurer’s mother company and its chief client Aeroflot – Russian Airlines is the leader of the Russian civil aviation and stands high in the Russian economy, which contributes to Moskva credibility”, - says Aleksey Tersky, insurance expert from department of ratings of financial institutions.

Moskva is a captive insurer. Presently the company devotes most of its activities to insuring aircrafts and carriers’ liability for its mother company Aeroflot – Russian airlines. In 2007 the insurer’s premium amounted to 526.9 mln rubles - position four at the aviation risks insurance market, according to Expert RA. Total assets of the company by January I, 2008 equaled to 979.8 mln rubles, authorized capital - 335 mln rubles.
