Expert RA has affirmed A credibility rating to Asiatrans Re and assigned A++Re re-insurance coverage credibility rating

The Expert RA rating agency has affirmed A credibility rating to Asiatrans Re.

High level of own funds adequacy, experience in large payments with significant involvement of re-insurers, low payables-assets ratio fostered the company’s high credibility rating. The credibility rating is contained by average federal-level re-insurance indicators, relatively high operation expenses and low liquidity and profitability levels of the investment portfolio.

Besides, Expert Ra analysts have made separate assessment of quality and credibility of the company’s outgoing re-insurance and assigned A++Re re-insurance coverage rating. Following the Expert RA methodology, the main accent was laid on quality of the company’s re-insurance protection from risks (not on the company’s financial status). “Correspondence of own retention to financial capacities, presence of re-insurance agreements for all large risks, high credibility level of the company’s partners for outgoing re-insurance, high efficiency of re-insurance protection contributed to the company’s final assessment have contributed greatly to the company’s high assessment”, – says Natalia Komleva, Expert RA, department of ratings of financial institutions.

Asiatrans Re is a specialized re-insurance company ranking 60-th for 2007 incoming re-insurance collections. The company’s main areas of activity: re-insurance of road vehicle insurance agreements (59.4% of collections in 2007) and insurance of enterprises’ property (18.6%). In 2007 the company collected about 240 mln rubles, with consolidated assets by 01.10.07 totaling 357 mln rubles, and own funds – 220 mln rubles (Expert RA data).
