The Second Economic Forum in Tula "Strategy of growth: innovations plus potential of traditions", October 12, 2007

On October 12, 2007 Tula is to host the Second Tula Economic Forum "Strategy of growth: innovations plus potential of traditions", held by the Tula administration and the Expert RA rating agency. "49 agreements totaling 184 bln rubles would be signed at the forum, – said Viacheslav Dudka, the Tula region governor, – which doubles the results of the First Tula Economic Forum (21 agreements for 91 bln rubles in 2006)".

Agreements signed this year:

• OAO BION Pro: development of "Krasnye Vorota" housing complex, total investment 38 bln 400 mln rubles;
• GUP "Management of experimental developing": comprehensive land development for housing construction, area 1 mln 40 thou. sq.m in Tula and Tula region for 26 bln rubles;
• ZAO SU-155: South-East housing complex in Tula, 16 bln 400 mln rubles.

According to Viacheslav Dudka, the Tula region governor, one of the main tasks of the Forum is to present investment abilities and competitive advantages of the region, to develop general rules of operation in the market environment by joint efforts of the local government and business. The Tula regional strategy by 2028 provides for:

• Increased GDP growth per capita by 6-7 times;
• Increased earnings for the region consolidated budget per resident by 8-10 times;
• Increased annual housing commissioning per resident by more than 6 times;
• Increased share of innovated products in the region GRP by more than 7 times.
